Background and Structure

ENCATE was established  by Kreuzberg Initiative against Antisemitism (KIGA e.V.) as an informal platform for learning and exchange in May 2019.

It is financially supported by the German Federal Foreign Office and the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ). The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum supports the European Network as regards content and resources.

KIGA coordinates the Network; it is responsible for general management of funds and good governance, and the cooperation of the member organizations for the goals as mentioned.

The working language is English.

ENCATE has a steering group consisting of the five experts from the coordinator and member organizations. This group has the role and responsibility to develop the contents of the network activities together with the coordinator organization and partner organizations. The work of this group is facilitated by the coordinator organization. Similarly, other ad-hoc committees can be formed when necessary.
